PPR secures approval for regeneration flats in Chelmsford
PPR Estates is pleased to confirm planning approval has been granted for the regeneration of the vacant uppers to the Charles Fish Jewellers on Chelmsford High Street.
The approved plans sensitively enable the conversion of the vacant, class E, uppers to create 4 flats with over 3,000 sq. ft. NSA combined area, private amenity space and a separate residential entrance. The development will increase the vibrancy of Chelmsford town centre by creating much needed city centre homes from this currently redundant space.
Jon Caplan, MD of PPR added: ‘We are excited to bring this redundant space back into valuable use as 4 apartments. PPR look forward to repurposing and renovating this vacant space as part of our wider asset management plans. Many high streets suffer from similarly under-used uppers these days. This development fits perfectly within our ESG and urban regeneration mission by sensitively re-purposing existing buildings wherever possible.”
Town Centre investment
PPR owns and manages over 60 commercial sites and premises in various High Street locations across Southern England, as well as a significant residential portfolio. We are focused on mixed-use, town centre regeneration to meet the flexible needs of modern society, whilst creating value. PPR has substantial funds available for further acquisitions and investment.
