PPR confirms £65m Brimmington Park development starting work

PPR Estates (PPR) is delighted to confirm that site works are starting on 168 apartments and a new 20,000sq ft Aldi Supermarket at Brimmington Park, SE15, this month. The £65m GDV development is forecast to complete in Summer 2024. Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing has acquired PPR’s freehold site with full planning approved in place towards their long-term affordable housing needs in London.

The site forms part of the Old Kent Road AAP, and PPR has worked closely with Southwark Council to secure the viable re-development of this brownfield site to create much-needed new housing and a modernised, viable Adli store over the last four years.

Jon Caplan, PPR’s MD comments: “We are very proud that the Brimmington Park site is being re-developed at the vanguard of the Area Action Plan. It will create 168 much need socially affordable homes and a new Aldi store. The neighbouring park will also be re-generated as part of the scheme. Designing and securing full planning approval for a realistic, commercially and socially viable scheme (regardless of the timing within the property cycle) is testimony to PPR’s hands-on and collaborative approach with all the other stakeholders involved, including Southwark Council Leaders & Officers, the GLA, Aldi, Metropolitan Housing & our neighbours.”
